How far in advance should I place my order?
Online orders must be placed at least 2 days in advance. For custom cakes with detailed designs, larger celebrations, or specialty requests, we recommend ordering earlier to ensure availability (2 weeks). Wedding cakes should be booked as early as possible to secure your preferred date.
Do you offer last-minute cakes?

Do you offer delivery in Toronto?
Yes, we offer local delivery across Toronto and surrounding GTA areas depending on location, availability, and order size. Delivery fees vary based on distance and size of order. We deliver to Toronto, North York, East York, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Oakville, Vaughan, Woodbridge, Richmond Hill, Scarborough.
Can I customize colours, themes, and designs?
It depends. Not all predesigned cakes on our store can be customized. Colour customizations must be approved and may incur a charge. For modifications, it may be best to place a custom cake order. Click Here to visit the custom cake page.
Do you require a deposit?
For most orders, full payment is required at the time of booking. Online shop orders and custom cake orders require full payment to confirm your order and reserve your date.
Wedding cake orders require a deposit to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due one week before the event. Orders are not confirmed until payment or deposit has been received
Do you offer wedding cake consultations?
Yes. Wedding consultations are available for couples looking for custom wedding cake design guidance, sizing recommendations, and design planning for their special day. Consultations can be coupled with a In-Store tasting experience. Email us to reserve at info@velvetlanecakes.com
Do you make cakes for allergies or dietary restrictions?
Please contact us directly regarding allergy requests or dietary considerations. We will always do our best to guide you based on your specific needs. A definite yes is Gluten Free options, available for nearly all cake & cupcake orders upon request.
Where are you located?
Velvet Lane Cakes & Cafe is located in the Old Town Toronto neighborhood, nestled inside a charming historic building from the 1800s. We are just minutes from St. Lawrence Market and the Distillery District, offering pickup and local delivery for custom cakes, wedding cakes, and celebration cakes across Toronto and the GTA.
Can I walk in and pick up a cake?
Yes, you can. We offer ready-made cakes daily in our café for walk-in pickup, perfect for last-minute celebrations and special occasions. Two sizes are available, with a selection of flavours and designs ready to go.
